Salon and services access information

Entrance: 88cm wide (narrowest doorway) with push button access.
Level access throughout, all furniture can be moved.

Hairdressing chairs have a width of 50cm. We have 2 alternate chairs which can be used. One has a width of 51cm and is slightly softer and the other has arms which are not attached to the frame at both ends so can accommodate some clients more comfortably. Please let us know if you feel concerned about the size of the chairs for your body shape or weight – we can make sure one of these chairs is booked for you if you’d prefer.

The weight capacity for our standard chairs is 375lb which is 170kg or 26.5 stone

We have two hair wash basins, one with a movable and adjustable chair.
We have a private room for haircuts which require more discretion HOWEVER there is VERY limited availability – please enquire BEFORE booking!

When booking, you are invited to share your pronouns and any access information you would like your stylist to know. There is no expectation for you to face the mirror or to chat, please use the access info to indicate if this would be helpful for you, or let your stylist know at any time.

Toilet facilities

Our toilet is gender neutral and wheelchair accessible. There is no hoist or changing facility.

Dog-friendly salon

We welcome assistance and therapy dogs. Please do not touch or interact with assistance dogs unless invited by the person they are assisting. As we have had clients with severe allergies or phobias, we suggest that you do not bring companion animals other than assistance or therapy pets, or to at least get in touch first so we can let other clients know.

Public Transport

IMPORTANT TRAVEL INFORMATION:

Underground and Rail: The nearest station is Old Street (0.5 miles) There is extensive work being done until at least early 2024, the best exit for Open Barbers is exit 4 (as though for Moorfields hospital)
Overground: The nearest station is Hoxton (0.5 miles).
Bus: Buses stopping nearby are 394 (bus stops PC on Cherbury Street or PN on Buckland Street) and 141, 271, 21, 76 (bus stops XM or XQ on New North Road).
Cycle: There are TFL Cycle Hire docking stations around the corner from the salon at the junction of East Road and New North Road and on Pitfield Street.

Parking

There is pay and display parking directly outside the salon charging £6 minimum for up to an hour (Mon-Fri) (Free after 6.30pm Mon – Fri, 1.30pm Sat, all day Sun). Blue badge holders can park in public parking spaces for up to 3 hours for free.

The local area

Our salon is located in a parade of shops in a residential area alongside an off license, dentist, launderette and art gallery. The salon is located just south of Shoreditch Park. There are lots of cafes and restaurants on Hoxton Street (0.3 miles away).

Street accessibility

Some pavements leading to our shop are uneven and narrow. If you would like more information on the most accessible pathways to the salon please get in touch.
